Conflict lies at the heart of some of our best ideas as well as our worst failures. We will face conflict on a regular basis, so instead of trying to avoid it, the key becomes how to use it to your advantage. Our goal is to help leaders, teams and organizations become more effective in managing conflict so they can leverage the opportunities inherent in differences while at the same time minimizing potentially harmful outcomes.
Our books, Becoming a Conflict Competent Leader and Building Conflict Competent Teams, are focused on helping leaders and teams learn how conflict naturally occurs as well as what they need to do to get the best out of it.
During our in-person speaking engagements and in teleconference and webinar presentations, we seek to engage participants in an exploration of their current attitudes towards conflict as well as how they currently respond to conflict. They frequently look at conflict as something negative to be avoided. We endeavor to help them learn methods for cooling down, slowing down, and engaging conflict constructively, which can turn conflict from a vexing problem to a personal and organizational advantage. |
